Design Journal - Class Activities 1

So was in class the other day and we came up with a really brilliant idea for a game. We were given a ball and 6 dice and had to come up with a new style of game with only these materials, I thought it was an excellent idea for a tutorial class so we quickly set out to brainstorm our ideas. The game that we eventually came up with was really simple to play and easy to learn and considering the materials we have it was only natural that we name our creation “Ball Grab Deluxe”. Basically you need 4-6 players and you each roll the dice and if the same number appears 3 times everyone reaches in to grab the ball. It’s a lot of fun to play and really tests your reflexes. We came up with alternative rules as well to make it harder by having you add the values and if they added to more than 15 you grabbed but this proved quite difficult for many people. We also added a rule so that if no number were repeated you could grab. To win the game everyone must spell out one at a time the word “Balls” each time they successfully grabbed a ball.
