Design Journal - Zorbix Game Concept

I have the demo of the game below, keep in mind that it is nowhere near complete but basically I am still trying to get this concept to work. The premise for the game is that you have what would ordinarily be a game of Tetris with pieces coming in from the top and fitting in the bottom, only catch is the pieces are actually coming in from all sides, cannot be rotated and are hitting a central piece in the middle. There is a lot of bugs with the game but I just wanted to show off the beginnings to see if anyone had thoughts on where to go with it.

The inspiration for the game came from Tetris and me wanting to put a different spin on the game. I am still deciding on whee to take this game, having rotating parts? I intended the game to be space themed where the speed increased over time and different elements were introduced to make the game more difficult but I think ill leave it as a minigame for a much larger collaboration.

 

Use your arrow keys to move the central piece around, by getting any combination of 9 not using the center gold squares you are able to remove the mass, don’t let a piece fly by.

 you can get 9 as a square or 9 horizontal or vertical.
